Northwood hills is an excellent subdivison that is located in North Dallas. Most of these homes can be found on large lots from 0.4 – 0.6 acres in size. The homes here are in a marvelous area and come at not a bad price for the area either. When purchasing a home in Northwood hills you should expect to pay around $160/ft. However, this is just the average, some will be a lot higher and some a lot lower.
Northwood hills would be also a great area to invest in, these homes can be found every once in a while at an abnormally good rate. However, this area is so hot and filled with life that these deals will not last but a few days if not hours. So you will need to be ready if you are looking to go down that route.

Caruth Hills is a lovely little area in University Park. You will find it very well located alongside SMU, Highland Park, and Central. The homes that are located in this area are among some of the nicest homes in all of the Dallas area. However, as being in one of the most sought after areas of Dallas, these homes are still not over the top as far as pricing is concerned. Though they are not going to be considered cheap, they will run you about $300/ft for an average home in the area, that is still within HPISD.
Caruth hills is a lovely area that should be viewed by anyone and everyone who is looking within the Highland/University Park area to purchase a home. There really is nothing that these homes are missing, they have it all. They are custom built, they are on good sized lots, they sit among a premeir luxury area, and they are quite simply just marvelous homes.

When you are searching among the Lake Highlands area, an area that you may want to consider would be the Lake Highlands Estates. The Lake Highlands Estates have been around for quite some time, and are among one of the oldest areas in Lake Highlands. Many of the homes were built in the 50’s and 60’s. However, these homes are great and maintain a strong value compared to other parts of Dallas. White Rock Lake borders the area, so you will see many bikers and runners around the neighborhood as well.
The homes can be found for around a $130/ft price range making them a great bang for the buck in such a hot area. Also, depending on what day it is, you may find some great fixer upper deals in the area because of the age of the neighborhood. If you see one you like you will want to take advantage fast however, as these deals do not last long.

If you are looking for a great place to call home and have not settled in on an area yet. You should take Merriman Park Estates located within Lake Highlands into consideration. This area consist of many great homes that have been built around the 70’s and 80’s. The home price range will vary anywhere from the low $200’s to around the $600’s. Typically these homes will bring a $120/ft asking price which is a very nice rate considering what all is “included” when purchasing a home in this area.
When viewing the homes be sure to drive around the neighborhood and you will notice probably first and foremost the award winning elementary school that has been one of the tops in the area for years. This school would be a great place to raise your children up in. Next you may notice all the new high end developments in the area, the Lake Highlands Town Center for example. Merrmian Park Estates is a well established neighborhood that continues to be a highly sought after areas for many young families.
